| Section 3 - Statement
Provide a statement highlighting the reason behind following a career within the law enforcement position, consider what caught your eye to this department and position and why you should be accepted within our department. Explain your reasoning behind being a better candidate than other applicants and with the statement below it.
3.1 - Why do you wish to join the San Andreas State Police? (Minimum of 300 words):
My decision to join the State Police is not an easy transition from one profession to another. This is a kind of evolution, the embodiment of new goals and aspirations after I served for several years in the Fire Department. I have always been characterized by a desire for service to the community, and now, having decided to leave the Fire Department, I see in the Police an opportunity to contribute more widely and in a diverse way to public safety. Experience in the Fire Department taught me not only how to respond effectively to emergencies, but also developed my leadership skills, ability to work as a team and make difficult decisions in stressful conditions. I understand that these skills will also be in demand in the Police, and I am ready to use my experience in a new area. An important point is also the desire to create a safer and fairer society. In the Fire Department, I have seen how important the quick and effective work of law enforcement agencies is to prevent crime and protect citizens. I want to be part of this system and do my part to keep the state in it's order.
The Police Academy will provide me with new knowledge, skills and the opportunity to climb the ranks. Joining the Police for me is not just a change of profession, but a new stage in his life, filled with challenges, responsibility and the opportunity to make a significant contribution to society.
I see myself as a hard working person, like someone whose parents are divorced. I consider this one of the key qualities for entering to the State Police Academy. I am ready to always support any of my colleague, as they taught me in the Fire Department. I know that I will get through this work, as I described above, I worked in the Fire Department and our work often crossed paths. We are as one whole - first responders. Of course I am aware that I am leaving the Fire Department's native walls for me, but to understand that I continue to do my previous work - rescuing and helping people, but with some additional responsibilities from the laws of our county - that reassures me.
