| Section 3 - Statement
Provide a statement highlighting the reason behind following a career within the law enforcement position, consider what caught your eye to this department and position and why you should be accepted within our department. Explain your reasoning behind being a better candidate than other applicants and with the statement below it.
3.1 - Why do you wish to join the San Andreas State Police? (Minimum of 300 words): My ambition to join the department stems back from my previous employment within the SASP. During my last run, I performed to the best of my abilities to pursue my passion of becoming a full-time trooper. I had made it to the field training program in which I did not score a passing mark on my final examination.
This brought me down tremendously, and made me question whether or not this was something for me. However, after prolonged deliberation I came to the conclusion that I would not let this take my goals from me, and would only make me more dedicated towards making it happen by any means necessary. I began to not only continue to work on my physical health, but also my knowledge on Law Enforcement duties in general.
Reflecting back on my main reasonings for pursuing a career here in the first place, was my desire to be an active influence on the public's view of LEO's. I wanted to be a role model for the civilians of the state, showcasing the positive impact we make on their day-to-day lives. In current condition society is in at the moment, officers are largely frowned upon and looked at in the wrong light. Of course, I wanted to serve my community and protect those that are innocent just as any other level-headed trooper would.
It is my belief that I have acquired the adequate amount of knowledge required to get me through the stage that I have previously failed. I am completely willing to learn new skills and information to further aid me in the process. My mind is set and I am determined to make a better portrayal of my knowledge and skills to achieve the role of a full-time trooper. I look forward to this opportunity and the best time to follow through is now with the recent opening for applications.
