I'm glad to return and see things are still running smoothly and progressing along with the direction we are all wanting. A big thank you goes out to Summers who took control and worked hard with Lockhart and Hobbs ready to assist her in any way they could. This moves me onto my next point which is the resignation of Lieutenant Colonel Evelyn Lockhart. As a department, I would like to thank her for all she has done for us during her tenure here. The San Andreas State Police wishes her well in all she's got in the future and hopes to keep in touch with her. I'm glad to be back and ready to move forward into the holidays. Sincerely,
Jackson Young wrote: Hello Troopers, I am Jackson Young, the newly appointed Director of Correctional Services Unit. For those who know do not know me or have not crossed paths, I've been in Law Enforcement since 1996. I was originally hired by the Sheriff's Department as a Sheriff's Deputy. Over the course of my 23 year career I have had a wide array of leadership positions. I aided in the development of Internal Affairs, served as SWAT Commander, Criminal Investigations Chief, and Weapon Licensing Chief. When I was offered this position, I was already interested in spending a vast majority of the remainder of my career in the facility, and as such I was happy to take the position. My plans for this unit are to provide a safe, secure, and humane correctional system through effective supervision and appropriate treatment of individuals. I am pleased to say we already have a strong set of staff for such a new unit. I appreciate all of the troopers who are helping me and the unit progress in a positive direction. As we move forward, certain services will open within the facility. Currently visitation is still in the works. Additionally we hope to provide some skill based or tradesmen workshops for inmates inside the facility. Finally, I appreciate everyone's patience with the unit as the handbook is still evolving. While we move forward we find situations that are not covered by the handbook, and as we resolve those situations we are constantly adding them to the handbook. I am very open minded to suggestions and I remain as approachable as I can. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me. With regards, Jackson Young.
Daniel Bryce wrote:The Emergency Services Unit has witnessed a lot of changes in the past months since the appointment of the new leadership, however never to an extent where it was fully operational. The unit's Command Team has revised the system which the division follows to operate and decided to revamp it, bringing a new system which will ensure better resources management. The unit will be undergoing major changes starting from this month and will be completely revised from its recruitment system to its leadership and ranking authority. Each member of the unit will have a list of responsibilities they must upkeep and will have a more clear way of progressing through ranks. The system shall be fully effective by the start of the new year, featuring a unit that is more organized in the field and trained to handle the most difficult situations possible. Newly revised recruitment system which will select only the best of candidates, an intensified training system which will build these candidates for situations they would not fear to handle, and an operational system which will be more organized and clearer when it comes to ranking and authority, with the best management possible of resources. Regards, Emergency Services Unit Commander of Operations.
Lucy Summers wrote: Troopers, We've had an extremely busy time of it, this past month. We saw the re-opening of Green Palms Correctional Facility and the introduction of the Correctional Services Unit. We said goodbye to Lieutenant Colonel Evelyn Lockhart as she announced her retirement and we also saw five willing supervisors take up their role as CiT's. December will see a rise in extreme weather, risk of increase in vehicle accidents and the potential for power outages in the tri-county area. Before you go on patrol, ensure you have the equipment necessary to do your job to the best of your ability. Spare batteries for your flashlight, a heavy winter coat, gloves and a beanie to keep your ears warm! I am in contact with our Fleet Services Manager to start prepping our patrol vehicles with winter tyres but that doesn't make them entirely vulnerable to the dangerous road conditions we are expecting to have, so please drive carefully. Pursuit procedures will be reviewed for the month of December and will continue to be monitored depending on the weather. Main Points for Christmas! Stop and interact with members of the community. Check they are alright during the challenging weather. Roleplay the weather accordingly. Wear beanies, don't drive like fools. Set an example! Review the changes to CHARLIE and ALPHA units where applicable! Have a safe patrol, an enjoyable Christmas and a Happy New Year! Sincerely,
Adam Hobbs wrote:Hello ladies and gentlemen, November has finally come to a close, as we prepare to push into the month of December with the hectic weather, and festivities that follow with these winter months, I want to thank all of you for your hard work and dedication. As the month of December rolls in, so does the holiday season. During this month we will be lifting the activity requirements from one duty report every seven days to zero duty reports for the month of December and the first week of January. As much as we appreciate everyone's hard work and dedication to the department, We would rather you all focus on spending time with family and friends than spending it on duty. So starting from the 1st of December and going through till to the 5th of January the activity requirements will be eased to the requirements listed above. Also with the winter months comes the winter weather. We have also gotten in contact with our vehicle supplier, and we will be replacing half of our fleet with FBI Ranchers and Rangers. An Operational Announcement will be posted on these vehicles and will be posted later on today. We will still have some cruisers and we will be sure to keep a little bit of every variant. This move is to keep not only keep the Troopers but the citizens of San Andreas safe as we operate through winter. To finish up the newsletter I'd like to go ahead and thank the every member on their hard work and dedication to the department. Also we are not allowing ANYONE to wear a Santa Hat while on duty if you are caught wearing one you will face disciplinary action. If you have any questions comments or concerns please shoot me a PM or a poke. Best Wishes,
